So yesterday I decided it was time to go on-line to check my bank accounts and e-mails!  Much to my dismay, there were 196 messages!  Thankfully most of them were from Pottery Barn and could be deleted, but there were also several Evites.  I did not even know what Evites were–and then I began to realize–of my gosh, this is how all those twenty year old moms in our church invite you to showers and parties.  I was too embarrassed to read most of them because the dates had come and gone!  However, one of those Evites was for a personal shower the next night, which is today, and I was the only person that had not responded.  I immediately checked the box and sent the response–however, I’m still so unsure of my computer skills that I immediately called the person in charge to let her know that I am planning to attend.  Next, I looked at the invitation list and realized that everyone on the list is in their twenties except one in her thirties and them me—almost 50!!   The sweet bride-to-be is all of 21!  I’m clueless what “personals” I should buy her–so a gift card will have to be my contribution–I’m clueless as to why they would invite me—but I do understand that the church is all nationalities, ages and sizes (thank God!) and that we are called to love and cherish and sometimes mother our sisters in the body–Jesus help me to love them as you love me!
